“Rescuing a dog is giving a dog a second chance. There are millions of dogs that need homes, we felt rescuing one of them is our chance to help a dog that needs a home”.Marina & SteveThis is the story of our beloved Carlitos Santana, told by his parents. Carlos found his forever home in Arizona and is now "happily ever after" with parents that love him and provides him the best care. Enjoy. "Earlier this year we lost our 15 year old Golden that was an integral part of our family for many years. We were devastated. Shortly after, I contacted a local dog rescue organization and asked about adopting a dog. The outlook did not seem bright. There is a lack of available Goldens in Arizona. We were unsure of where to turn next but kept continuing to have hope. One day, without notice, I received a call and it was a miracle, they said they had a dog and if I was interested, and I said “YES!” I didn’t know anything about him, but I just had a feeling that he was ‘the one’. Carlos was found on the streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. We were fortunate that he was found by amazing people and brought to the foster in that city.
The rest is history! Carlos has been an absolute joy from day one. His loving personality and demeanor won our hearts from the moment we picked him up. He is very smart and learns quickly. He sleeps by our bed at night and can’t wait for his morning walk. He is a ham and loves attention by anyone! He follows us everywhere and loves to go for rides in the car - he just wants to be ‘included’. We are very lucky! Since Carlos had been in the streets and likely on a less than ideal diet, we knew he needed to eat healthy food. After some research and looking for the best food, we came across Real Food for Dogs. When we read about how the food was prepared and made specifically for a dog’s diet and health - we were sold. He loves his food and we know we are providing him the best nutrition possible. I would like to encourage pet parents looking for dogs to consider a rescue first before a breeder. There are hundreds of thousands of dogs without a home who deserve a second chance".
